Residents flee to Cameroon as ISWAP hits Borno town

Many residents and humanitarian workers in Rann, the administrative headquarters of Kala-Balge local government Area of Borno State have escaped to neighbouring Cameroon or taking refuge inside bushes as Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP terrorists launched an attack on the town on Monday.

The terrorists, according to reports, attacked a military unit and other establshments in the town which is about 350km from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

According to reports, ISWAP fighters in large number gained access into the main town while shooting sporadically.

Some residents, mostly civilians escaped to the bush while humanitarian workers were seen moving towards Cameroon
