Suspected herdsmen attack Kogi communities

Two communities in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bagana and Patani were reportedly attacked Monday night by suspected Fulani Herdsmen.

Several houses were burnt down, with reports indicating that at least 4 lives including a policeman were also lost in the attack.

As at time of the report, residents of Abejukolo and environs were living in fear and anxiety. The Fulani fighters are said to have Abejukolo, Obakume, Ogo and Oganigwu as possible next targets.

Oganenigu community and environs has been deserted into various IDP’s Camp since the attack.

Confirming the attack, Police spokesperson the state, William Aya said the attackers are suspected militia who invaded the communities, killing four persons, three civilians and a police man, said the police have however brought the situation under control.
