Retired Lt.-Gen. Jeremiah Useni, the Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, has won his local government area, Langtang North, in the March 9 governorship polls.
Dr Luka Usman, the Local Government Collation Officer for the elections, made the announcement on Sunday in Jos.
Usman said that Useni scored 40, 519 votes to beat his closest opponent, Mr Simon Lalong of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who secured 18, 979 votes.
The collation officer made announcement in the presence of Prof. Richard Kimbir, the State Returning Officer for the polls.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that so far, results of five out of the 17 local government had been collated.
