PRP wins another federal constituency seat in Bauchi

Candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Mr Abdullahi Shehu, has emerged winner of Saturday’s election for Bauchi Federal Constituency in Bauchi state.

Announcing the result for the constituency on Monday, the Returning Officer, Prof. Yakubu Ibrahim of Abubakar Tafawa-Balewa University (ATBU),  said Shehu polled 69,088 votes to defeat contestants of other political parties.

Candidates of other political parties that contested with him were Mr Muhammed Sabo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 53,470 votes, Mr  Aliyu Garu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who garnered 43,727 votes and Mr Sani Subairu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) secured 4,266 votes.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alhaji Umar Abdulkadir-Sarki, also of the PRP, had during the day, clinched the seat of Katagum Federal Constituency in the state.
