Adejoke Adeleye, Abeokuta

Results from the presidential election collation centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abeokuta as declared by Prof. Joseph Afuwape, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), showed that President Muhammadu Buhari polled highest number of votes in 14 out of the 20 local government areas of Ogun state.

The Local Governments won by President Buhari who contested on the platform of All Progressives Congress are: Ijebu Ode, Sagamu, Ijebu North East, Egbado South, Odeda, Obafemi-Owode, Abeokuta North, Ikenne, Abeokuta South, Ado-Odo/Ota, Ewekoro and Ifo, Obafemi Owode local governments.

Buhari’s closest challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of Peoples Democratic Party won in Remo North, Ogun Waterside, Ijebu North ,Imeko-Afon, Ipokia and Ijebu East local governments.
