The parents of baby Ifeanyi Victory, delivered at a campaign ground in Ethiope East LGA of Delta have thanked God and Gov, Ifeanyi Okowa for bringing joy to the family.

Okowa had on Feb. 7 redeemed the N2 million pledge made to the baby girl who was delivered at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign rally at Isiokolo when the parents visited him at the government house, Asaba.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the baby girl, who was named Ifeanyi, after the governor, was delivered on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at a rally.

Mr Benjamin Imuere, the baby’s father, while thanking God and appreciating the governor for the gesture, disclosed that baby Ifeanyi Victory had brought a new vista of life to the family.

He prayed God to guide the governor to enable him to continue with good governance in the state.

Okowa thanked God for the gift of the baby.

He expressed satisfaction for the availability of medical experts at the campaign ground which ensured that professionals attended to the mother of the baby during the unexpected labour.

The governor, however, urged the parents of the baby to open an account for the baby with the money.

”We thank God for the gift of life. The child is also a lucky child.

”God has a reason for everything because what we witnessed on that day was unique.

”We congratulate the family for the new born child and plead that the fund should be managed to the benefit of the baby without such affecting the family.

”The money should be able to yield interest,” the governor said.

Chief Faith Majemite, Chairman, Ethiope East LGA, who introduced the baby and her parents, Mr and Mrs Benjamin Imuere to the governor, said that the governor was known for keeping to his promises.

The Delta PDP Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso and Chairman, PDP Campaign Council, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, were among those who witnessed the event.
