Alhaji Lawal Liman, chairman of Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended the judgment of the State High Court 3, Gusau, which upheld the primaries it (APC) conducted for the various elective positions in the state.
Liman, who spoke to newsmen in Gusau on Friday, described the judgement as a welcome development
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the judgment was delivered by Justice Bello Shinkafi.
The court upheld the primary elections conducted by the party under the leadership of Alhaji Liman in October 2018.
The party and some of its candidates had on Oct. 11, 2018 filed a case before the State High Court 3, Gusau, asking it to compel INEC and the APC National Secretariat to recognise the candidates produced by the primaries it conducted in the state.
Liman said, ”we consider this judgement as a welcome development and a victory for the people of the state”.
He urged the party’s supporters in the state to ensure unity, peace and stability toward its victory in the general elections in the state.
