Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has revealed that the Federal Government has awarded and paid for the reconstruction of a 100km Sagamu – Interchange – Papalanto – Ilaro – Oja Odan roads as well as the reconstruction of the old Sokoto – Kano road that runs through Joga Orile, Roundera and Igbo-Ora.

Gov. Amosun made this disclosure on Thursday at Sunren ward 9, in Ifo Local Government area of the State while on campaign tour for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari and for his senatorial ambition as Ogun Central Senator at the National Assembly.

Amosun who was full of joy said, “now that the federal government is fixing this road, the executive order would soon be signed for everybody to see and we would all be better for it”.

While thanking the President for the kind gesture, the Governor said Ogun State came first with the longest of kilometres that has been awarded and paid for.

The Governor also assured Nigerians of President Buhari’s love for the nation, saying, “PMB is working round the clock to make sure that we have all the necessary and required infrastructures in the country. Without these infrastructures, there can’t be meaningful development”.

Amosun added that President Buhari would soon be coming to Ogun State to test run the ongoing train construction, assuring that work will soon begin in earnest on the awarded roads.

While speaking with journalists, the Governor revealed his administration’s plan to develop a 40 billion dollars New City project around Kara-Isheri area of the state which he said “will attract 4 billion dollars in the first instance”.

The New City project known as Mitros City which according to the Governor, “will include a shopping mall, business and commercial district and will rival Atlantic City in Lagos”, is being handled by the best logistics company in the world.

Amosun explained further that the coming in of the investors will jack up the economic activities around the area and will increase the Internally Generated Revenue of the state for the incoming administration.
