A 24-year-old domestic servant, Amarachi Onyemaizu, who allegedly stole property worth N9.9 million from her employer, was on Friday arraigned before an Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.

Onyemaizu was docked on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.

She, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Omisakin, said that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 4, 2018 at No. 4, Ikoyi Crescent, Ikoyi.

The prosecutor alleged that the accused stole jewelries and other valuables belonging to  Mr and Mrs Gupta, her employers,  valued at N9.9million.

Omisakin said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Komolafe, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N5 million with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until Feb. 5 for mention.
