A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Yusuf, was on Tuesday docked before a Karshi Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly duping job seekers of N51,000.

The judge, Aliyu Kagarko, however, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N200,000, with one surety in like sum.
Kagarko adjourned the case until Jan. 21 for hearing.
Yusuf, who resides in Karu village, Abuja, is being tried on charges bordering on criminal breach of trust, cheating and criminal misappropriation, to the tune of N51,000.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mahmud Lawal, told the court that job seekers reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja, on Dec. 13.
Lawal alleged that the accused breached an agreement entered into with one Shallom Philemon, Okeke John, Mathias Ayuba and Gabriel Abba, for job placements in any government establishment.
He said that the accused deceitfully collected the sum of N51,000 from the job seekers, but failed to provide the jobs and allegedly converted the money to his personal use.
“During police investigation, the accused was found with different application letters and pictures of the victims,” Lawal said.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 312, 322 and 309 of the Penal Code.
