The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda, has disclosed that his administration would provide a minimum of 1,000 Megawatts of power within four years if elected in the 2019 general election.

According to him, the availability of electricity would enhance productivity of artisans in the state.

He also asserted that it is too late to advise the state governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on good governance and debt management.

He added that what the governor should be doing now is to embark on the control of the damages he has done to the state for the rest of his tenure.

Paseda made this assertion at the Ogun West SDP end of the year’s celebration party held at Atan, Ado-Odo/Ota local government.

The governorship Candidate also stressed that he was not bothered about the huge debt profile of the state, though he expressed displeasure over what he described as the outgoing government on the level of gross mismanagement of fund.

He, however, promised to restore the dignity of the state and give the residents the much-desired dividends of democracy if elected

Parade also used the opportunity to speak on his manifesto promising to restore the  standard education in the state through his free and qualitative education scheme ‘as opposed to the current ineffective system.’

He also used the opportunity to introduce his running mate, Chief Musiliu Akinogun and promised that the job will be done in cooperation with him against the general assumption of making a deputy a “spare tyre”.

While speaking on his plans on how he would govern the state if elected, Paseda disclosed that his administration would focus on three main sectors – education, health and economy.

His words, “This 2019 election is the mother of all elections, is not going to be about money, is not going to be about parties, is going to be about individuals and is going to be about candidate.

“It is too late to advice Governor Amosun, it is gone. All he has to do now is what is called political cleaner and damage control”.

In terms of debt profile, there is no state or country that doesn’t have debts, but what I am arguing about is management of debts.

“ The economy is driven by Medium, Small and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs). First, we will look at education and then look at ways to support entrepreneurs. Also, the ease of doing business will be addressed.”

He also disclosed that his administration would provide a minimum of 1,000 Megawatts of power within four years. According to him, the availability of electricity would enhance productivity of artisans in the state.

Meanwhile, his running mate, Okanlomo Musiliu Akinogun pointed out that their administration would be an inclusive one, adding that women will be well represented.
