Dapo Abiodun:

Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has promised that his administration would strengthen the Local Government Institutions in the state, to enable them perform effectively on their constitutional responsibilities.

Abiodun made this promise during a courtesy visit to Islamic bodies at the Egba Central Mosque Kobiti, Abeokuta, where he seek for their blessings for the coming 2019 election.

He also pledged to improve on the prevailing religious harmony, saying if given the mandate to govern in 2019, he shall appoint a special adviser on religious affairs to strengthen the relationship between the religious bodies and the government of the state.

The oil and business mogul and his running mate, Engr.(Mrs) Noimot Salako -Oyedele, were in Kobiti to seek the blessings of the Imams in Egbaland and solicit their support ahead of the formal flag – off the governorship campaigns round the state.

Abiodun who also used the visit to market his policies, listed rural development , good governance, women empowerment, educational development, improved health sector, facilitation of constant power supply, increasing the Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) and infrastructural development among others, as issues his administration would implement when sworn-in.

Prince Dapo Abiodun while addressing the Imams said he has chosen a Muslim as his running mate because he is a democrat who believes in God and various religion,and willing to work with the Muslims as a leader and to seek for their blessings and support to become the next governor of the state.

“I have come to seek for your blessings as Islamic bodies, I have been introduced to you, myself and my deputy, our party as chosen us to represent the party in the forthcoming general election.

And I believe in you our fathers most especially you the Muslims, I believed that if you have determined who will be the Chief Imam or Alfa nobody else can say he is the Chief Imam of Alfa.

Whosoever ever you annoint is whom the people will quak in for according to the guidance of Islam, so therefore it is necessary for me to come and present myself to you that I am the governorship candidate of Ogun APC to be the next governor come 2019. And by the time I emerge the next governor and would be sworn in by May 29,2019”. He added

He also appreciate them for their peaceful conduct in the state, say he enjoy their peaceful relation with the Christian Bodies in the state, because if there is no peace between them the wouldn’t be peace in the state.

Dapo however, enjoined them to continue to preach peace as they have been doing everytime.

He also promised never to renege on what the incumbent governor has been doing for them instead it would be double and better.

“I know our incumbent governor is a Muslim,by so doing I promise not to renege in what our governor has been doing for you,their would not be any differences if there is going to be any differences it’s going to be double of what he has been doing for.

Although I am a Christian and not just a Christian but a true Believer, my family are Muslim and that is why I am been named Saheed therefor I want to assure you that mine will not be different I’ll do it and make it better and you will be amazed.

I can not know your mind and what you all want by this am going to appoint a special Adviser on religious affairs , a special assistance on Islamic affairs and another in Christian affairs who will over see and build good relationship between us and you the Islamic body and know what they want. Before now we have put our people across the state to know what is in the mind of the people and to know what they want.

He promised to strengthen local government institutions, we will sure to empower local government chairman that our people will not have to come to Abeokuta to see the governor before the would get their leverages.
