Governor El-Rufai

The Kaduna State Government has approved N60 million for Kaura Local Government to execute some projects in the area.

Dr Bege Katuka, the council’s Caretaker Committee Chairman, made the disclosure in Kafanchan on Thursday at a news conference.

He said the decision was a direct response to pressing needs of the various benefiting communities within the area.

NAN reports that the projects to be executed include drilling of motorised boreholes, rehabilitation of markets, construction of drainages and culverts and installation of solar street lights, among others.

‘‘The projects, sixteen in number, are all expected to be completed in a minimum period of three months,’’ he said.

Katuka explained that seven out of the 16 projects would be executed through direct labour while the remaining nine would be given to contractors.

He stated that the first set of projects was awarded in September 2018, adding that the jobs had reached more than 90 per cent completion.

The chairman thanked God and the state government for granting the caretaker committee the opportunity to torch the lives of the people in the area.
