Key stalwarts of All Progressives Congress, APC across the 20 local governments of Ogun state have paid a solidarity visit to the party’s governorship candidate for the 2019 general election, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun at his residence  in Iperu area of Ogun East senatorial district.

Led by the Director General of the Governor Ibikunle Amosun  Campaign Organisation during the 2015 elections and Chairman of Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Chief Bode Mistapha, the APC members has pledged their support for the governorship candidate as they expressed optimism that his  leadership will liberate the state from ‘slavery’ which, according to them, the state has found itself.

Mustapha said he never believed that Prince Abiodun would be the one whom will be brave enough to liberate the state.

He said, “Today I must thank God for the lives of all of us who believe in Prince Dapo Abiodun because I must tell you that I never believed that our liberation could come this early. If I was told that it is Prince Dapo Abiodun who will bravely lead the movement for our liberation in Ogun state, I wouldn’t have believed.

“The first time he visited me then, I wasn’t in support of any gubernatorial candidate. I was the DG of the incumbent governor and then we had some agreement of which they reneged.

“But we must just thank God today because our most preferred candidate has emerged and as a result we must continue to pray for the candidate and as well stretch the hands of fellowship to other aggrieved members.

“We must note today that, I am not doing this because I want to contest for any political position but, I am doing this so as to set the records straight for our unborn generations to come.

“When you go to war, you must come back and jaw jaw and as a result, I want to appeal to everybody to forget the issue  of groups and embrace one another so as to form a formidable party that will win during the 2019 general election. Yes the time has come to bury the weapons of war.” He added

Also, speaking at the programme,  the Deputy Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Olakunle Oluomo enjoined the members to remain steadfast and brace up so as to achieve victory during the 2019 general election.

He said,  “I bless the name of God for how far he has helped us and as well greet everybody present here today including our Principal, Prince Dapo Abiodun. When injustice becomes a role, resistance becomes a duty.

“All of you know what happened to me recently and it even repeated itself three days ago. But no one can kill me.  We must all brace up because ‘no one get to the midst of the river and still complains of cold’. I pray that we will all come out victorious.”

Also speaking, the Chairman, House committee on information, Hon Dare Kadiri said there should be no need for anyone to be aggrieved, adding that the party opted for the most democratic way of voting.

“It was agreed that if we did not agree to consensus we should all go to the field and that is what was have done so, there is no bases for agitation because it is the majority’s votes and we are happy with it because it is the most democratic way of electing candidates.”

He, however, promised to work for reconcilliation of all aggrieved members of the party in order to move the party forward and to ensure that APC produced the next governor of the state.
