Mr Babatunde Aleshinloye-Williams has won the primaries of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for selection of candidate for Somolu Constituency ll, Lagos State House Assembly in the 2019 general elections.
Mr Aleshinloye-Williams was unanimously elected with 58 votes as the party’s flagbearer, according to result declared by the returning officer, Mr Eboda Olugbenga after the exercise.
Mr Olugbenga said the election was a free and fair.
While expressing his appreciation, Mr Aleshinloye-Williams thanked the leadership and members of PDP as well as all the delegates to the primary for selecting him to represent the party in the coming general election.
He added that he was deeply touched by the expression of confidence by the people of Somolu/ Bariga, friends, families and loyal supporters who generously contributed their time and effort to his campaign.
He said, “I thank those who saw greatness in me and appreciates my zeal for positive change and human capital development”.
He called on every member of the constituents, to fully entrust him with the responsibility of speaking on their behalf as their representative, saying he is committed to the course of improving human lives and will continue to pursue diligently, the development of Somolu/Bariga and the people.
He added that he was committed to the PDP and would support the Party to take over government in Lagos 2019.
“I look forward to the people of Bariga/Somolu to work with me as a team to advance this political project to a successful general election in 2019, which by His Grace shall be a landslide victory for the PDP in Lagos State and Nigeria in general”, he said.
