As the collation of results from the Osun governorship election continues, one of the shocking revelations was the inability of Governor Rauf Aregbesola to deliver his home base of Ijeshaland to the All Progressives Congress candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.

An analysis of the results from the local government areas that made up Ijeshaland shows that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party won in almost all the  councils.

In Obokun LGA, PDP defeated APC with a large margin 10,859 votes to 7,229.

However, APC won the Ilesa East with 9790 votes while PDP got 8244 votes.

Also, APC also lost Ilesha West LGA to PDP, getting 7251 votes to PDP’s 8286 votes.

APC won Atakumosa East by polling 7073 votes to PDP’s 5218 votes.

PDP defeated APC in Atakumosa West, polling 5401 votes to the ruling party’s 5019 votes.

Also, APC Chieftain Chief Bisi Akande won his Ila Local government by less than 200 votes.

APC got 8401 votes while the PDP polled 8241 votes, according to results announced by INEC.
