Maj-Gen. Adamu Abubakar, the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, has urged troops of the division to always remain apolitical.

Abubakar gave the charge on Monday in Enugu while delivering a farewell address to officers and men serving in army units of the division.

The outgoing GOC, who has been posted to Nigerian Army Resource Centre, also advised the troops to be professional at all times.

“I will implore you to remain apolitical at all times,’’ he said.

Abubakar commended the officers for their co-operation and loyalty to the division and the command, according to News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

He urged them to extend the same co-operation to the incoming GOC, Maj-Gen. E.B. Kabuk.
