The Former Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Sule Lamido, today paid a courtesy visit to the former president Olusegun Obasanjo at the Presidential Library in Abeokuta. Lamido said he “sees poverty on the faces of Nigerians.” Lamido said this after a two-hour close door meeting with Obasanjo.

He disclosed that he came to visit the former president to seek his fatherly advice over his (Lamido’s) presidential ambition for 2019,but added that his take on Nigeria is that what he could see on the faces of everyone is penury!

On his visit, he said: “In Nigeria, when they say who is Baba’s son? They say it is Sule Lamido and as a result of this, I have only come to my father to seek his guidance, talk about Nigeria and tap from his wisdom about Nigeria.

Speaking on the gales of defections in the land, he added: “In a political party what you need is followership and when people are coming into your own party, you should be happy and even celebrate.”

Meanwhile Chief Olusegun did not come out to attend to any question from the journalists.
