NiMet predicts thunderstorms, rains, cloudy skies for Saturday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy conditions for most parts of the country, with prospects of thunderstorms and rainfall in some parts for on Saturday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Friday also predicted thunderstorms over Gusau, Kebbi and their environs during the morning hours.

It said thunderstorms and rains were anticipated over the northern region, with day and night temperatures expected to be in the ranges of 27 – 32 degree celcius. and 21-23 celsius.

The agency predicted chances of thunderstorms and rains in the central states of Bauchi, Gombe, Mambila plateau, Abuja, Minna and Bida during the morning hours.

According to NiMet, the western flank of the central states is likely to experience thunderstorms and rains, while the rest of the region is expected to be cloudy during the afternoon and evening hours.

It predicted that day and night temperatures in the region would be in the range of 27 – 30 celsius
and 20 – 23 celsius.

“Rains are likely over Eket, Port Harcourt and Calabar, while the rest of the region is expected to be cloudy during the morning hours.

“Later in the day, the entire region is expected to experience moderate rainfall with day and night temperature expected to be in the range of 26 – 310 celsius and 20 – 22 celsius,” NiMet predicted.
