Just in: Ex-minister, Adamu Ciroma, dies at 84

Mallam Adamu Ciroma, a former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria and ex-Nigeria finance minister is dead.

Daily Trust quoted family sources as confirming that the former minister and one of the founders of Peoples Democratic Party died in an Abuja hospital on Thursday after a protracted illness.

Ciroma was the finance minister during the first term of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

He was 84 years old.
