Mr. Abdulahi Galadima, the Chairman of Kuje Area Council of Federal Capital Territory was lucky to escape death on Thursday as hoodlums armed with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons descended on him after an All Progressives Council, APC stakeholders meeting held at the Kuje township hall.

The meeting was held to prepare preparing grounds for Saturday’s ward congresses of the party.

A correspondent of this magazine who was attacked while taking pictures at the event said the youths who are loyal to Prince Hamidu Saraki Gaube, a Gede by tribe attacked the chairman because they believe he is trying to renege on his promise that he will spend only one term in office.

The youths, during the protest asked the Kuje Council Chairman who is a Gbagyi to abide by his promise of serving for only one term and allow Gaube, to serve.

Apart from the vehicles, the youths went to the APC wards offices in the area and destroy the properties.

It was gathered that the youths chase away security operatives.

The hoodlums beat up and damaged the eyeglasses of our reporter when they saw him trying to take their photographs with a cellphone.

He was later helped to escape by one of the thugs.

But Galadima, said he did not know why he was attacked.

He said that the hoodlums damaged his official car and that of his Vice Chairman.

Also hit was the former chairman of the council, Mr Danladi Zhin, whose car was badly damaged. ’

“The presence of the security agents saved me from being lynched by the attackers,” he told News Aagency of Nigeria.

He explained that the meeting had  twice been postponed over security concerns, but expressed optimism that those behind the incident would be apprehended and brought to justice.

“When the investigation begins, we will know those behind the act and why they had to do it,” he said.

He expressed optimism that the forthcoming APC congress would be a success.
