Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed two people and abducted nine others in Tsohuwar Gwari, a village in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna state on Saturday night, according to report in Daily Trust
Those kidnapped by the gunmen who reportedly stormed the village at 12pm included a newly wedded bride in the area.
However, three people however managed to escape from their abductors leaving the other six, a source who did not want to be mentioned said.
The source said, ” The incident happened at 12pm on Saturday night in Tsohuwar Gwari village, one of the oldest villages in the area. There is a popular river in the area known as Kwarita where people selling medicine for pile are always seen so it is a busy place which kind of never sleeps. The village also has a bad road which is used by the terrorists to terrorise people plying the road.
“They stopped people taking advantage of the bad road, killed two people on the spot and kidnapped nine even though three people were able to escape and have also narrated what happened.”
Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu confirmed the incident.
The incident occurred where 11 soldiers were killed recently.
