The Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic have shut down the gate of the institution preventing academic and management staff access into the institution.

The students said they will ensure there is no entrance into the campus until the lecturers and management release result of the last examinations they wrote.

It would be recalled that crisis began to rock the institution in January 2017, when the state government concluded plans to transform the institutions into a degree awarding institutions.

This development for different reasons has led to different crisis in the institution as the Academic Staff of the institution embarked on a three months strike,holding the students examination to ransom, which led to students unrest.

As a result of this protest, the staffs under the aegies of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP), MAPOLY and the government were forced to reach a consensus and ensured that the students wrote their examinations in January 2018.

Meanwhile the strike has deprive the students from going for the one year National service NYSC in November last hoping that they would meet up with the April 2018 mobilisation.

Two months after the examinations the academic staff withheld the students result and closed the opportunity of getting mobilised in April against the students.

In his reaction, the Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students,Ogun states Comrade Olawale Balogun describe the situation as unfortunate on the path of the students.

His words, “It is just unfortunate that we found ourselves in this mess as students because we are suffering for what is non of our business because we have carried out our own part.

“I will use this medium to appeal to ASUP in MAPOLY to be fatherly and human to us as students because non of us is a child of the Governor or commissioners. More so, the government should also do the needful.”

Also in his submission the Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, MAPOLY chapter Mr Kola Abiola decline reaction saying ” I have no reaction.”
