It was protest galore at the National Assembly on Thursday. Ayuba Wabba, President, Nigeria Labour Congress led members of non academic staff of federal universities to protest government’s failure to respond to their over three months strike. Those who participated in the protests include members of Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non Academic staff Union(NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT). Members of the associations carried different placards to demand the immediate meeting with the Federal Government over their demands which include payment of backlog of unpaid earned allowances.
Also, some members of Dapchi commmunity in Yobe State where suspected Boko Haram militants recently kidnapped 110 girls were also at the National Assembly to ask government to intensify efforts for the release of their daughters. Among the protesters were parents whose children were among those abducted by Boko Haram as shown in these photos by Femi Ipaye.
