The General Manager, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS), Mr Yusuf Musa, has advised media practitioners to always ensure balanced and objective reportage in the interest of peace and national development.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Musa gave the advice on Wednesday when playing host to Mass Communication Students Association of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in his office in Lafia.

He called on the journalists to always abide by the ethics of the profession and ensure balanced reportage of events at all times.

“Mass Communication profession is very important profession to the society as it informs, educates and entertains the public on what is happening in the society.

“I congratulate you for the choice of the course and I call on you to abide by the ethics of the profession.

“NBS will continue to receive students on Industrial Attachment from the school and I promise to always support the students by giving them practical knowledge of the profession in order to excel in their academic pursuit,” he said.

Musa has also advised the students of the institution against engaging in cultist activities, examination malpractice and others social vices.

According to Musa, staying off these vices will bring about overall development and progress to their educational pursuit and peace of the state.

The general manager called on the students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuit, saying that they should justify their parents and government’s huge investment in their education.

Earlier, Akolo Emmanuel, the President of the Association, commended the management of NBS for giving the students the opportunity to excel in the profession.

Emmanuel also commended Gov. Tanko Al-makura for providing infrastructure development in the institution, just as he applauded the Vice-Chancellor of the institution for providing the department with a complex.

The President solicited the support of the management of the station to have a campus station in the school.
