Residents and indigenes of Ekiti, especially those with  sight problems will have the opportunity of getting their eyes checked and treated for free across the State, tomorrow, Saturday, 17 February.

The free eye check and treatment is part  part of the programmes lined up for the official declaration of Senator Babafemi Ojudu to contest in the Ekiti State governornorship election  scheduled for July, 2018.

The eye treatment is an initiative of Ekiti Rebirth Organization, ERO, the campaign arm of Ojudu 2018, in collaboration with a foreign based Clear Vision Medical Mission, CVMM and was designed to ameliorate the sufferings of the Ekiti people, many of who could not afford quality medical treatment as a result of current poverty ravishing the land.

Gboyega Adeoye, ERO’s publicity coordinator in a statement issued to announce the medical intervention quoted Kayode Afolabi, a top official of the organisation as saying the treatment would be offered free of charge across the three Ekiti senatorial zones in Aramoko, Agbado and Ido Ekiti.

According to him, the towns were so selected to ease access to the offer across each zones.

“Already, medical experts to conduct the tests, provide medications and offer eye glasses, as the case may demand, are already set for the treatment billed to commence from 9:00am Saturday.

“This would be the first time an aspirant would embark on a massive medical treatment that cut across the entire state in recent time.

Many are already excited by the opportunity to get succour for their sight problems through the free- eye medical intervention of the All Progressives Congress, APC gubernatorial aspirant who is also the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs.

They recalled that as a Senator, the aspirant also introduced the hospital on wheel or mobile clinic through which many in his senatorial district got succour for their ailments.

Adelana Adeyanju, a business man based in Ado Ekiti, commended the feat and enjoined other well meaning stakeholders in the state to emulate Senator Babafemi Ojudu who he described as a passionate lover of his people.

” Ojudu is so passionate about our people and this has been demonstrated many times through selfless services he had offered to ensure good governance in the state since 1999. If others in his category can be equally committed, Ekiti would have been greater,” he said.
