The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Tuesday stormed the Abuja national office of the Joints Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB with anti-snake venom and snake charmers, according to a report in Premium Times

The Senator’s visit is in response to raging controversies over a viral story that a staff of the examination body in Benue claimed a snake swallowed the sum of N36 million realised from sale of  registration cards.

The Senator presented JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, with two packs of anti-snake venom and offered the services of two snake charmers to fish out snakes that swallowed huge amount of money to the amusement of the staff of the examination body.

“The reason for my presence here is in response to the story that a snake swallowed about N36 million. It is my concern that such a huge amount of money is reported to have been swallowed by a snake. I believe the contribution I can make is to bring snake charmers from my constituency to the JAMB office to help them fish out the snake or weed out snakes from their premises,” Sani said.

“If a snake can actually swallow N36 million one day we may wake up in this country to see that a snake has swallowed our foreign reserve or it has swallowed money that was gathered in the TSA.”

The JAMB Registrar who could not contain himself insisted on taking photograph with the packets of anti snake venom.

One of the snake charmers, Tasiu Abdulrasheed said he has never captured a snake that swallowed money.

“My master has at different times captured snakes that swallowed various kinds of animals but he has never caught one that swallowed money,” he said.

JAMB said it has suspended Philomena Chieshe a staff at its Makurdi office who made the claim.
