Government officials led by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo received the remains of former Vice President, Dr Alex Ekwueme, at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday. Also present to receive the remains of the Architect and lawyer who was born on October 21, 1932 in Oko, Orumba North Local Government of Anambra State and died in a London hospital on November 19, 2017 were his political associates and family members. A colourful parade was held by officers of the Nigerian Police Force in honour of the late Vice President. After a brief speech, Osinbajo handed over the remains of the late former vice-president to the family, represented by his son, Mr Goodheart Ekwueme, at 12:40 p.m. The body departed for Enugu in an Air Force plane in company of his family members at 1:30 p.m. Here are faces at the parade of honour held at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday as captured in these images by Femi Ipaye.
