Governor of Rivers State,Nyesom Wike will be at Omoku,headquarters of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government area of Rivers state on Wednesday to hold a peace parley and Town hall meeting following the recent killing of notorious killer, Don Wanny by federal forces in his hideout in Enugu.
It is significant to note that former Governor Chibuike Amaechi and Minister of Transport was at Omoku two days ago. Amaechi visited the those injured during attacks allegedly perpetrated by Don Wanny and members of his gang in the new year attacks on their hospital beds.
Amaechi had accused Wike of abandoning his constitutional role of protecting lives and property of the people of Rivers and vowed that the killers of people of ONELGA must be made to pay for their crimes during the visit.
While announcing the impending visit of Wike, ONELGA council Chairman Osi Olisa said the town hall meeting is a peace parley with the people of the area irrespective of political affiliation.
He added that the parley is to fashion out a road map to the sustainability of the existing peace in the area.
It would be recalled that Governor Wike declared some of the fugitive members of Don Wanny’s group wanted with N20 million bounty placed on them among 32 others on the wanted list.
