Police confirm release of kidnapped Ikulu Chief

The Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mukhtar Aliyu has confirmed the release of the abducted Chief of Ikulu, Mr Yohana Sidi Kukah.

Aliyu told NAN in a telephone interview on Thursday that the Chief has been reunited with his family and was hale and hearty.

“The release followed intense pressure from our Anti-kidnap Unit,” he said.

The ifficer said although no arrest was made, investigation was ongoing to nip the perpetrators.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN recalled that Kukah, the younger brother of Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Rt Rev, Matthew Hassan Kukah, was kidnapped on Jan. 2 at his residence in Anchuna, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.
