The late Ekwueme

Governor of Taraba State, Darius Dickson Ishaku has received with shock news of the untimely death of Chief Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, former Vice President of Nigeria and foremost Nigerian architect, which occurred November 19, 2017.

Chief Ekwueme, according to the governor, played a critical role in the political engineering process that gave birth to the present democratic dispensation in Nigeria. adding that “his very mature approach to politics, forthrightness and patriotism also helped in no small way to nurture and sustain that process. His contributions will certainly be accorded a generous place in the political history books of the country.”

The Governor extends his sincere condolences to the members of the family of this political stalwart and architect, a profession that he is also a proud member of, the Governors and the entire people of the South East States of Nigeria on this sad occurrence. He prayed that God Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear the loss of this illustrious gift to the Nigerian federation.
