Gov. Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State yesterday disowned Bimbo Ashiru the Ijebu APC Candidate for Ogun gubernatorial seat.

The governor made this known at a press conference held at Governor’s Office Okemosan Abeokuta with Ogun Yewa-Awori Elders, led by Deacon Poju Adeyemi Yewa APC.

His words: “I was not around when he was elected, I was in Anambra then, it was an Oba that called to inform me that one of my cabinet members had been elected as the Ogun East APC Candidate.”

Amosun who dashed the hope of the elders made it known: ” I am a focussed person I don’t look around when am holding somewhere, we the son of the soil know ourselves, Ogun is a no go Area for some strangers who go about looking for their father’s house”.

Amosun added: “I know GNI,Mamora and some others but I don’t know some people who go about claiming to hail from our land”.

“If I say am handing over to a candidate from Ogun West it does not mean I am handing over to Atohunriwa”, he added

“Like I said before I am saying it again am handing over to Ogun West come 2019″.

This does not mean other candidates from other senatorial district cannot contest they can,we know how we did it that we won the election in Ogun Central”.

“Therefore put your mind at rest, no room for strangers from any where I repeat”

Prof. Biyi Afonja beseeched the governor to take a look at Ogun West politicians and pick one of them to take over the governorship seat from him and they will support him.

Prof. Afonja “I spent over 90 percent of my life in Yewa affairs so there fore let the governor’s seat go to Ogun West”

“I would have been a governor if God had ordained me to be a Governor in 1979 but God knows why I declined then and why it stands till this date”.

Afonja also pleaded with the governor to make the seat go to Ogun West in his life time.

He however made it known that he was with the council who picked Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi last week at Yewa. Speaking at the conference Deacon Poju pleaded with the governor to elect a candidate for them and they will support who ever he chooses for them.
