The Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun has said that his government would rebrand the homes of notable sons and daughters of the State who have distinguished themselves as legends in their various endeavours to world class museums.
Amosun who made this known at the Treasury Board meeting, held at the Oba’s complex, Oke Mosan Abeokuta, said that the legacies of those icons could not be forgotten, assuring that government would rebrand homes of other icons so as to make them attractive tourist sites in the state.
“Look at the on-going rebranding of kuti’s family house, we are going to rebrand about six or seven homes of other great legends such as Baba Ogunde’s house among others in the State,’’ he said.
The Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Basorun Muyiwa Oladipo appreciated the government for the rebranding initiatives, saying that the efforts of the present administration at promoting cultural value of the State would further project it to the outer world.
Meanwhile Basorun,requested for more support especially in the area of provision of coaster buses among others that would enhance the smooth running of the Ministry, assuring that early preparation of 2018 African Drums Festival would enable the state achieve its set goals of attracting more world tourists towards making the State tourist hub of the nation.
