Gunmen on a mission to abduct an expatriate killed a yet to be identified man, his three year-old- daughter and a policeman in Rumukrushi area of Port Harcourt,  the Rivers State capital, before eventually taking away their target last Wednesday, it has been gathered.

In the sad turn of the ugly event, the pregnant wife of deceased whose name cannot also not be ascertained as at the time of writing this story instantly collapsed and went into coma upon hearing about the killing of her breadwinner.

Narrating the events leading to the triple killings, eyewitnesses said the gunmen had trailed a vehicle whose occupant was an expatriate with a Police escort for some time.

They later ambushed their prime target and opened fire on the vehicle as it got to the Tank axis and exchange of gunfire ensued between the armed assailants and the police escort.

Sensing that he was obviously overpowered by the armed men, the Policeman fled for safety by running into a roadside phone shop owned by the late man who was with his little daughter.

The daredevil gunmen reportedly the policeman to the open shop and fired several shots at him till they were satisfied that he was dead.

The gunmen went away with the dead policeman’s gun.

It was in the killing of the policeman that the shop owner and his little girl were shot dead by the gunmen who consequently, also took the expatriate away.

It was learnt the man and his daughter were buried on Saturday in their hometown in Ebonyi state. The heavily-pregnant wife was still in shock even as the corpses of both her husband and her three year old daughter were buried.
