Scale of justice

Adebayo Dayo, Ogun PDP,

Engr. Adebayo Dayo and the Executive Committee of the PDP in Ogun state has called the attention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Caretaker Committee, the Independent National Electoral Commission, Police, DSS and party faithfuls in Ogun state to compell an illegal caretaker commitee to obey the court’s order”judicial order that further proscribes the activities of the dissident group named Caretaker Committee of Ogun PDP.”

He continued: “Our position has always been that there are no two leadership of the PDP in Ogun state and several court orders and judgements have validated that position.”

In the last few weeks however, there has been an ongoing proceeding at an Abeokuta Magistrate Court in suit MA/540c/2017, where members of the illegal caretaker committee have been on trial for criminal contempt of court orders and for parading themselves as Ogun PDP executives.

In its unequivocal and unambiguous ruling yesterday, the trial magistrate ordered and restrained the caretaker committee from gathering together, holding any meeting or Public assembly.

The court furthered held that no congress should be conducted in Ogun state; and that the Police and DSS should arrest, investigate and proscute anyone in violation of that order.

Furthermore, in attesting to the charade that took place in the name of illegal congresses held in the last two weekends, the electoral panel sent from Abuja to conduct congresses (that ought not have been conducted in the first instance under the law) has written a report where it declared that no congress was held in Ogun state, owing to the malfeasance that greeted the purported exercise; and any pretensions to have done so is null and void and of no effect.

He appealed: “We therefore urge the National Caretaker Committee, INEC, Police and DSS to align with the Rule of Law and be guided by this latest ruling and other previous court judgements; and relate only with Engr. Adebayo Dayo Executive until 2020.

“Finally, we strongly admonish our brothers and sisters on the other divide, not to gather anywhere around Ogun state in the name of a congress on Saturday 4th November 2017; any form of disobedience will attract the vicious intervention of relevant security agencies and those found culpable, no matter how highly placed, will be arraigned for a fresh contempt of the latest court order.”
