Ogun Police Command yesterday paraded three women, Abibat Oyesanya, Morenike Shittu, Olubunmi Funke who allegedly specialized in child stealing and kidnapping in South West.

Funke who confessed to have sold her three-year old daughter for N280,000, said she used the money to offset her debt.

She said “I gave out my three year old daughter to Abibat Oyesanya who is into local adoption business. And she promised me that I would be allowed to visit my daughter once in three month.

“I am a prostitute. I engaged in prostitution after my first husband sent me packing. So, I decided to give out my daughter to woman who gave me N280,000. I used the money to off set my debt. “The woman also requested for more children based on more demands for those adopting children.

That is why I kidnapped the baby girl in Bodija, Ojurin, Ibadan, and brought it to the woman.”
The Commissioner who said the police was committed to flushing out criminals in the state, said the suspects were arrested as part of “ember month mop-up operations of the command.”

Among the suspects were 10 suspected armed robbers including a female allegedly terrorising Mowe-Ibafo. They are, Abiodun Rasaq, Saheed Adebayo, Omisore Kayode, Oyemomi Rasaq, Ridwan Moruf, Mohammed Adefemi, Bala Idris, Abeeb Rasheed, Fatai Abiodun and Bosede Oguntoye (female). Equally paraded was One Pastor Olotu Oluwakayode who allegedly diverted N17.8million into his bank account.
