Boko Haram leader, Shekau: NAF said his wife was killed in air strike

The Nigerian Air Force said on Wednesday  that the wife of Abubakar Shekau,  the leader of the Boko Haram terrorists identified as Mallama Fitdasi, may have been killed in recent successful airstrikes on DURWAWA settlement on the outskirts of URGA, near KONDUGA.”

The Air Force which based its claim on what it described as “human intelligence” said Mallama Fitdasi was reported to have been representing her husband in a coordinating meeting with other terrorists at the location of the airstrikes.

The  Air Force had reported the successful aerial attack of a large number of BHTs at DURWAWA on 19, October 2017.

A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Olatokunbo Adesanya said that Battle Damage Assessment had indeed revealed that the aerial attack set off a fire, causing damage to the Boko Haram terrorists’ structures within the settlement and neutralized most of the terrorists with a few of them fleeing the location.

NAF said efforts are ongoing to confirm the reported killing of Shekau’s wife, alongside other members of the Boko Haram terrorists likely killed during the air attack.
