Rev. Naphtali Enwongulu of Mission Field Outreach for All Nations, Keffi, has advised Nigerians to always give thanks to God, no matter their situation.

“We must give thanks to God, our creator, no matter our situation; it is the only way to obtain God’s blessings and favour,” he said on Sunday in Keffi, at a thanksgiving service in honour of Prof. Barnabas Barde.

According to the News Agency of Nigetia, NAN, Barde, a senior lecturer at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi organised the Service to thank God for elevating him to the rank of a professor of Business Administration.

The cleric, who took his readings from I Thessalonians 5:18 and Gen.37:5. urged Christians and Nigerians to always thank God and sing praises to Him in all circumstances because He was always aware of whatever they were going through.

“The Bible is clear about this; in everything, we must give thanks to God because he is faithful and all-knowing,” he said.

He said that Barde’s promotion was a dream come true, pointing that he was feeling fulfilled, hence the need to orgnaise a thanksgiving service to thank God for the kindness and mercy.

The preacher tasked Nigerians on hard work and urged students and other Nigerians to emulate Prof. Barde’s total commitment to duties, so as to excel in life.

“We have all gathered here today to celebrate and to appreciate God for upgrading Barnabas Barde to the rank of Professor.

“In thanking God, we are making our requests known to him; we will get more blessing and God will surely come to the aid of the people and the country at large, if we continue to thank him” he said.

Enwongulu called on parents to give priority to the education of their children, pointing out that quality education was the best legacy parents should leave for their children.

The cleric urged Nigerians to live holy and exemplary lives by shunning negative tendencies, adding that it was only righteousness that could exalt an individual and a nation.

In his remarks, Barde said that he organised the thanksgiving to appreciate God for seeing him through and for his elevation to the rank of professor.

Barde thanked his parents for the training which had made it possible for him to rise to the rank of professor.

“I want to thank God and my parents, who inculcated discipline and moral values that made it possible to cope all situations,” he said.

He also appreciated the management of the University for supporting him to actualize his dream.

For information minister Labaran Maku, Sen. Solomon Equga and Alhaji Bala Ahmed 11, Registrar of the institution, in their remarks, commended Barde for the hard work that made it possible for him to become a professor.
