FIFA fines Nigeria

World football governing body,  FIFA has imposed a fine of about around $31,000 (CHF 30,000 Swiss francs) against Nigeria over the behavior of fans during the Super Eagles game against Cameroon in Maiduguri.

FIFA said on Monday that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was fined for “improper conduct among spectators” during  2018 World Cup qualifying match with Cameroon at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on 1 September.

FIFA listed Nigeria’s sanctions as “improper conduct among spectators (pitch invasion by supporters and invasion of restricted areas by supporters [other than the pitch]).”

The football governing body said the behavior of the fans was in violation of articles 65 & 67 of the FDCFIFA Stadium Safety and Security Regulations

Super Eagles beat Cameroon 4-0 in the match.
