Jigawa council provides scanning machine, test kits to hospital

The Maigatari Local Council of Jigawa has donated scanning machine, glucometre and Sphygmomanometer worth N1.3 million to the General Hospital in Maigatari to boost healthcare services in the area.
The council’s Information Officer, Malam Usman Abubakar, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Friday.
Abubakar said that the council’s Chairman, Alhaji Sani Dahiru, while handing over the items to the medical director of the facility, noted that the gesture would stop referral of patients from the hospital to Gumel General Hospital.
He added that Dahiru also pointed out that it would also enhance the checking of patients’ blood pressure on time.
The spokesman added that the chairman urged the hospital management to ensure proper use and maintenance of the donated equipment.
According to him, while receiving the items, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr Muhammad Nura, commended the council for the gesture.
Abubukar added that Nura further noted that the kits would go along in boosting services in the facility.
He added that it would also improve healthy life of residents of the area.
