Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday assigned portfolios to the Commissioners recently appointed for the state.
The new commissioners and their portfolios are: Barr Emma Okah – Information and Communications ( the post he held during the brief period of former Governor Celestine Omehia), Prof Roseline Konya – Environment, Chief Ibibia Walter – Transport, Health ,Barr Isaac Kamalu – Budget, Mrs Tonye Oniyide – Culture, Prof Kaniye Ebeku – Water Resources.
Others are; Rt Hon Dum Dekor – Works, Barr Mrs Ukel Oyaghiri – Women Affairs, Dr Fred Kpakol – Finance, Hon Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, former majority Leader Rivers Assembly during former Dr Peter Odili administration is head Education Ministry, Prof Chike PrincHealth, Hon Damiete Herbert Miller – Social Welfare, Hon Ruderford LongJohn – Local Govt. Hon Shedrack Chukwu – Power, Hon Boma Iyaye – Sports, Hon Emeka Onowu – Special Services, Chief Chinedu Tasie – Housing, Barr Sylvanus Nwankwo – Chieftaincy, Mr Charles Nwogu – Agriculture.
It would be recalled that Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma (SAN) had earlier been sworn in as Hon. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, bringing the current number of Commissioners in Rivers State to 20.
