The father of the eight year old girl who was raped to death and butchered for money rituals, Dr Earnest Mezuwuba, has vowed that the only way he can be satisfied that justice was genuinely served is when the Courts pronounce death seentance on the suspects the key suspect and his accomplices.

Maxwell Ifeanyi Dike who was accused of murdering the eight-year-old girl and decapitating her remains is on the run. Police arraigned the investigating police officer under whose cutody the suspect escaped in court on Thursday and the court ordered him to be remanded in prison.

The Police said a suspect who asked Dike to help him procure parts of a human being for money ritual, an action which led to the killing of the girl is also in its custody.

The traumatised father of the murdered girl who recounted the horrible events that led to initial arrest of the fleeing prime suspect said initially when the immediate neighbours organised a search party for the the missing little Miss Chikamso Victory, the prime suspect, Ifeanyi Dike refused to join in the search.

He further revealed that the prime suspect was not only 200 level student of the University of Port Harcourt, but also a teacher in the school where the victim attends.

On whether he as been under any pressure to stop the pursuit of justice, Mezuwuba said no, vowing that he would not give up until those who organised to kill his daughter are sentenced to death.

“He was in his room punching his computer when other neighbours were running helter-skelter in search of Chikamso. It was after scolding him for being unconcerned about the tragic incident that he joined in the search”.

As the manhunt for Ifeanyi Dike who escaped from the Police custody continues, a Magistrate court presided over by Mr Andrew Jaja, on Thursday remanded Sergent John Bosco, the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, whose negligence led to the escape of Maxwell Ifeanyi Dike, the ritualist that raped and killed an eight year old girl, Chikamso Victory.

The dismissed Sgt who appeared in court drenched in his tears wore a pitiable look. It was learnt that he has been in handcuffs from the day the prime suspect escaped due to his neligence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Andrew Jaja said his court had no jurisdiction to adjudicate on one of the charges which is that of aiding and abetting murder suspect.

He said the case file would be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for further legal advice.

The Court remanded the dismissed Police Sergent in prison and adjourned the case to September 14 for mention.

The Court complex was jammed with curious members of the public and well armed securitymen.

Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, has said that the police has tried the negligent Police Sergent and was found guilty and subsequently dismissed.
