The police on Thursday arraigned a 28-year-old security guard, Felix Lorliam, in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) registration laptop.
The defendant, who resides at Mararaba, Nasarawa State, is standing trial on a count charge of theft.
The prosecutor, Florence Auhioboh, told the court that one Agule Japhet, of Dutse Bugume by ECWA, Abuja, on Aug. 20, reported the matter at the Gwarimpa Police Station, Abuja.
Auhioboh alleged that on the same date, the defendant entered the complainant’s shop at Starbag Junction Gwarimpa, and stole one airtel computer that he uses for SIM registration, valued at N45, 000.
She said that the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N20, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Sept. 20, for hearing.
