Ifeanyi Dike,the suspected ritualist, a 200 level of the University of Port Harcourt,who was paraded on Saturday by the Rivers State Police Command for haven raped and killed an eight years old girl in the Eliozu Axis of Port Harcourt escaped from te Police custody.
The father of the victim, Dr Earnest Mezuwuba said the suspected ritualist escaped from state criminal investigation department shortly after giving his confessonal statement same day he was paraded by the Police wit corpse of the mutilated body of the innocent girl.
The traumatized father of the victim, Dr Mezuwuba urged the Police to ensure that the ritualist was rearrested to face justice and for the safety of other innocent people.
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Zaki Ahmed confirmed the disturbing incident and said that the Policemen who caused the escape have been arrested.
CP Ahmed however called on the members of the public to volunteer information that would lead to the re-arrest of the ritualist.
Ifeanyi Dike was paraded on Saturday by the Police for kidnapping, raping and killing an eight year old girl residing in the same compound.
After raping and killing the girl, he allegedly cut off her private part, removed her eye balls, breasts and some her fingers.
He was arrested by the local vigilante with the help of the Police while he was attempting to dispose- off the body.
