Gunmen hijack bus with 15 passengers in Rivers

A gang of gunmen believed to be kidnappers operating in the Elibrada axis of of the East West road in Emohua local government area of Rivers, at about 7 am today, Monday August 7, hijacked an inter-state commercial bus carrying 15 passengers.

Identities of the passengers are yet to be ascertained at the time of the report

The whereabouts of both the bus and passengers is also not known.

However, sketchy information available indicated that the bus  belonging to ‘God is Good’ Motors was on its way out of Rivers State when it was ambushed.

Spirited attempts were made to get the reaction of the Rivers State Police Command on the incident it was futile as the telephone of Nnamdi Omoni, DSP the Police Public Relations Officer was switched off.

An SMS was sent, but there was no response at the time of filing this report.

Hijacking of passenger buses by kidnappers for ransom along the East-West road, Emohua Local government area and Elele axis in Ikwerre areas of Rivers State has been regular occurrences for some time now.
