Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has relieved all, but one of his Special Advisers of their appointments.
A statement by Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, however, noted that the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Bishop Winston Iwo retains his post.
Recall that the Governor had sacked his commissioners on July 24 and he is yet to reconstitute a new cabinet.
With the sacking of all the Special Advisers, the Governor can best be said to be running the executive arm of government with purely career civil servants without partisan politicians at least until he appoints new ones.
