Two teenagers- Joshua Ajibade,19, and Aina Ali, 18, were on Wednesday arraigned in an Okitipupa Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing and buying stolen cell phones.

The defendants of no fixed addresses are facing a count charge of stealing and buying stolen property.

The prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, told the court that the defendants on July 2, around 5:00 p.m., at Broad St. Okitipupa, stole two cell phones, Tecno Y3 and Tecno H3.

Orogbemi put the value of the two cell phones at N 20,000, property of one Peter Oyewunmi.

Orogbemi said that the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap.37, Vol.1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mr Banji Ayeomoni, granted the first accused and second accused bail in the of N50, 000 and N20, 000 respectively, and a surety each in like sums.

Ayeomoni ordered that the sureties must present evidence of a year tax clearance as part of the bail condition.
