Unknown cult gang members on Monday night invaded the Omudioga Community in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State killing at least five people.
Police Public Relations Officer Nnamdi Omoni confirmed that a rival gang invaded Omudioga which resulted a clash with another gang in the community leading to the death of people while several others sustained injuries.
Omoni who said some arrests have been made in relation to the clash advised people of the community to provide information to the police.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Police Command has assured that those responsible for the abduction of a medical doctor Dr. Alex Akani will be arrested.
Omoni said the house where Dr. Akani was held in captivity has already been identified.
