Mrs Theresa Padonu, a media practitioner, formerly with We FM Radio Abuja, has dragged the owners of the broadcast outfit, Kings Broadcasting Limited, to court over alleged unpaid salaries.
Padonu instituted the suit at the National Industrial Court, Abuja, claiming she was owed five months salaries and unremitted pension deductions amounting to N1.2million.
The claimant prayed the court to prevail on her former employer to pay her entitlements which consist of N859, 746 five months salaries and N374, 803 pension deductions for 33 months.
The claimant told the court that she was in the employment of the company from September 2013 to September 2016, after which she resigned, but was yet to be paid her entitlements.
The claimant’s counsel, Mr Mohammed Bakari, urged the court to hear the matter as settlement efforts with the company had not yielded positive results for his client.
The company’s lawyer, Mr Silas Onu, who did not deny the allegations, asked the court for extension of time to enable him explore more settlement options.
The judge, Justice Edith Agbakoba, adjourned the case until Sept. 25. (NAN)
