The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the death of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ese-Odo local government Hon. Olumide Odimayo in the custody of gunmen who kidnapped him last Thursday.

Ondo Police Public Relations Officer Femi Joseph confirmed the death of the APC chieftain who was kidnapped at his country home in Igbotu, Ese-Odo Local Government of the state.

It was gathered that Odimayo’s lifeless body was found on Monday in a boat at Ogolo river – a boundary between Ese-Odo and Irele Local Government Areas.

The police spokesperson who described the death of Odimayo in the custody of kidnappers as unfortunate said some persons have been arrested in relation to the incident.

“Yes, I can confirm the death of Odimayo which was discovered this morning. It is very unfortunate.

“We have arrested some individuals in connection with the death and they are all in our custody,” he said.
